For JoeCustoms.com's June 2010 Featured Customizer, we bring you Tantoys. You won't see a lot of flash and fancy sculpting in his work, although there is some of both. He makes the most of excellent parts selections and a keen eye for paint colors. That makes him the type of customizer other customizers borrow from without even knowing they are doing it. While he doesn't have any customs in the gallery, he's a got a metric ton of them in the Critiques section of the forum. Before you go check out his work, see what he has to say about customizing and some of his most inspiring work below.

Which style of figures do you enjoy customizing the most?

I enjoy customizing in the 25th/RoC format the most. I do wish they had a back screw though. Some are so hard to get apart without ruining the torsos, but before the 25th line came out I enjoyed the new sculpt stuff.

What brand of paint do you prefer?

I would prefer a good quality paint but I have to use Apple Barrel and Folk Art since that's all that's available I can afford.

Where do you find inspiration for your customs?

Inspiration, well from all over. Some from fellow customizers for customs I want the same figure, so I might try to do the same, but I mostly get my ideas of whom I want to make and try to be successful at it.

What do you consider to be your best tools of the trade?

Best tools, well I have a dremel, x-acto knife, paints and brushes, so it'd be them as well as my mind, hands, and eyes to do the work of creating some awesome customs.

What is your strongest area when it comes to customizing?

My strongest area is my determination to create a figure I will like and hope that others do as well. I think I do a good job in the parts selection and the paint apps. I've made progress in the sculpting area since I first started a few years back. All in all I am happy with the end results, but I know there is room for improvements which I hope to accomplish to make even better, more playable, and professional looking customs...

Thanks so much for the honor of this interview and getting inside of my head, JCS is awesome thanks all of you.
