For this custom I used a dremel (different bits), a knife, glue and a grinder
Figure parts
The nice part about making a zombie is that most any fodder pieces can be used. Here I simply picked out some parts I didn't have much use for, or duplicates of.
Getting started (parts modification)
I began the figure by removing the head and replacing it with the now modded casting.
The new head is glued in place.
I lopped off the old hands.
The arms are dremeled down and holes are drilled to accept the Microman hands.
This zombie will have an axe stuck in his chest, so the figure is prepared for it by opening a gash in his chest.
I flattened the tip of the axe.
The axe glued in place.
Next I use the dremel to add some bite marks.
Painting
First I base coat the figure with Krylon flat black.
Now it's time to add the details. Here's a look at the paint I use.
I start off with the eyes.
Next the shirt and jeans are base coated.
The flesh is base coated.
The hair is pained (blended paints).
The axe is painted (blended paints).
Blood is added. And the pupils are painted.
Final details are painted (washes, shading, etc) . . .and he's finished!
