TR1ER Featured Customizer
One of the best parts about doing the Featured Customizer each month is getting to look back over a customizer's work and seeing the growth from humble beginnings to superstar. TR1ER has made that turn where his work stands out in a crowd. He brings a playful realism to his customs. They still look like toys, toys that could kick some butt. His camo is always tight (hands down the best at digitsl camo), his parts selection is always dead on for the characters he creates, and his sling work on weapons added a whole level of accessory detailing that a lot of people emulate now. Go check out his customs in the Gallery and go take a look at his Critique threads on the forum. Then be sure to read what he has to say about the hobby .
Which style of figures do you enjoy customizing the most?
For me I roll with the modern style Joe's. I enjoy working on those more. Better for posing, painting, just an all around figure to work with for me. Style wise I do the more modern, desert military thing.
What brand of paint do you prefer?
Model masters all the way. I refuse to use anything else. I've tried other brands in the past, and hated the results.
Where do you find inspiration for your customs?
News, internet, movies, other customizers. Sometimes it could just be a simple part on my table and it just takes off.
What do you consider to be your best tools of the trade?
For me my brushes and my trusty dremel.
What is your strongest area when it comes to customizing?
Ya know I still feel like I have so much to learn. So many things I want to try. Sculpting is something I'm messing around with. But as far as my strong points I would have to say painting.
