The Bivouac was the predecessor to JoeCustoms.com and was created by board member Camper. The Bivouac was a website for fans of the GI Joe action figures to post custom figures, diorammas, and diostories. The website derived its name from the GI Joe Bivouac playset released by Hasbro in 1984.

Camper decided to close down The Bivouac, so all of the materials hosted on the site were moved to JoeCustoms.com and can be viewed at The Bivouac Archive.

Camper recently created a new website Check Point Alpha dedicated to hosting GI Joe dioramas and diostories.
