The 1983 G.I. Joe cardbacks changed little from the 1982 design. All of the 1982 figures were avalible again in 1983, now with the Swivel Arm Battle Grip.

Standard Cardbacks

Standard 1983 Cardbacks will feature the 1982 1/2 "NEW! Swivel Arm Battle Grip" lable in the bottom left hand cornor of the cardback.

  • The Front of the 1983 Cardback features the Photoshop "White Layer Trick", you will need to turn off this layer once you have downloaded the file, it will be the top layer and it will be solid white.
  • To make the cardback an Enemy cardback, make sure that the Enemy Logo layer is turned on and that the Real American Hero layer is turned off. You will also need to repet this step with the file card on the back side, turn off the Joe layer and turn on the Cobra layer. After that you can add the name of the Enemy to the logo.
  • No cobras were produced on this cardback, they insted use the 1982 cardback front, with the 1983 cardback back.

1982 figures in 1983

All of the figures from 82 were still avalibe in 1983. These cardbacks are often times called 20 cardbacks becuse they feature a 20 figure checklist on the back of the card. To make one of these cardbacks you will need the front half of the card from either 1982 and you will use the standard 1983 back. This will give you the 20 style cardback that these figures would have been on.
